Friendship, language exchange, and sign-up information
Capsule Talk is a friendship and language-exchange service where adults in Korea and Japan make friends and share each other's languages and cultures. It is not a service for finding romantic partners or arranging dates. Women and men can each become friends with people of the same gender. In draws, you choose a friend gender of everyone, men, or women. Country of residence is optional and entered separately from nationality. You can sign up whether you live in Korea or Japan. You send a first greeting to a friend you were introduced to, and you can chat once they accept. If you were introduced to each other, the chat opens with the first greeting.
The service and operator
Capsule Talk is a friend-making service for adults in Korea and Japan, operated by Microfactory. We may operate online friend introductions, greetings, mutual-consent chats, and an offline gacha of photos from participants who gave separate participation consent. The offline gacha places printed photos or cards in capsules and similar items and sells or distributes them at announced locations in Korea or Japan. Physical distribution of photos is a participation scope separate from online introductions. You meet friends without any fixed combination of gender and nationality. Sign-up and eligibility
Only those aged 19 or older in Korea and 18 or older in Japan may use the service. High school students and minors may not use it. You first confirm your nationality and gender, then register your name, occupation, age, and photo. Country and city of residence are optional at sign-up. Nationality and country of residence are managed separately. You choose the friend gender yourself and can be introduced to people of the same gender. We do not infer sexual orientation or romantic intent from gender choices. At sign-up you enter your real date of birth and agree separately to the Terms and to the collection and use of personal information. We check that you are old enough using the date of birth you entered. This is not an ID check, and signing up with a false age is prohibited. If found, we may restrict use or delete the account. Depending on operating policy, we may additionally request external age verification.
Profile and consent
You can register and edit your name, occupation, age, photo, and gender. Your name is the name shown to friends; use your own photo and accurate information. A self-entered age is not proof of adult verification. Impersonation, stolen photos, and false gender, age, or residence information are prohibited. Profiles are published after operational review and age verification. Profile publication, sensitive information, and cross-border transfer each require separate consent.
Rights in photos and license to use them
Copyright and portrait rights in photos remain with the rights holders. Members must be the person in the photo and obtain the permission of rights holders such as the photographer, and secure the rights needed for the scope of use they apply for. Do not register photos that include other people or minors, or any third party's contact details, address, or ID. The company stores, copies, resizes, crops, and color-adjusts photos only within the purposes, countries, and participation period you consented to, and, where you have consented to offline participation, may print, produce, place in capsules, sell, and distribute them. This is not a transfer of rights or a permanent, irrevocable license. We do not use photos for advertising materials, AI training, or making other products without separate consent. Registering does not promise a share of sales revenue or payment of photo usage fees. If there is a separate compensation agreement, that agreement applies.
Online and offline quantities and operation
The company decides online exposure counts, the quantity of photos printed, produced, sold, or distributed, and capsule composition, placement, and schedules within the scope you consented to. We do not guarantee any set minimum or maximum quantity or equal allocation among members. One photo may be produced in multiple copies or shown repeatedly, and may also not be produced or shown at all. Online and offline quantities and composition criteria may differ from each other. Members may not demand particular exposure or sales volumes, specific locations, or specific people. This clause does not arbitrarily reduce the displayed number of provisions and conditions of passes already purchased, or the quantity and period commitments of individual campaigns. It does not include any authority to continue new use after suspension, withdrawal, or withdrawal of consent.
Offline participation and separate consent
Saving a basic profile and consenting to online publication is not treated as consent to offline printing, sale, or distribution. Agreeing to the Terms of Service itself also does not substitute for offline participation consent. Before offline participation, we separately explain the information that will appear on the physical item along with the photo, the country and place of actual sale or distribution (Korea or Japan), and the scope of recipients, purpose, retention period, and how to stop. Besides the photo, your name, occupation, age, gender, and profile-connection information are placed on the physical item only if you separately consented to disclosing that item. Phone numbers, emails, addresses, dates of birth, and login identifiers are never included. We also explain print outsourcing and cross-border transfer information before actual processing. We obtain consent separately for participation, disclosure, and any needed cross-border transfer, and if you decline, only offline participation is limited. Online use and existing purchase entitlements are not disadvantaged.
Handling edits, suspension, and withdrawal
You can request suspension of online publication and of offline sale and distribution through publication pause or account deletion in Settings, or through customer support. You can also withdraw only offline participation without deleting your account. We verify only the minimum information needed to confirm identity, and upon receipt immediately block new online exposure, print orders and transmission, sale and distribution instructions, and further production within that scope. Withdrawal includes suspending both online and offline participation. We cancel print jobs that can be canceled and ask printers and operating outlets to delete files and stop sale and distribution. Unsold inventory controlled by the company and its processors is removed from sale, and we take necessary steps such as recall and disposal. We tell you what was received and done, the remaining work, and the expected timing. New use after a photo edit follows review and the relevant consent scope. Physical items already produced cannot be retroactively replaced with the edited photo. If you do not want the earlier photo used, please also submit a suspension request.
Photos already produced or delivered, and timing gaps
There may be files already sent to a printer and being worked on before suspension or withdrawal, photos already printed or placed in capsules and shipped, and physical items delivered to buyers and recipients. Because vendors' progress, delivery, and on-site recall take time, some printing or delivery may be completed in processes already underway while the suspension reaches them. The company checks whether cancellation, suspension, or recall is possible and carries out feasible measures without delay. Completion of printing or transmission to a vendor does not by itself allow continued sale of inventory. We cannot guarantee remote deletion or full recall of physical items already received by third parties or of personal copies they keep. When recall is not possible, we explain the reason and possible alternative measures. This notice does not remove the company's duties to stop and manage, or its liability for damages under law.
Capsule counts, membership, and recommendations
The default policy is 3 capsules a day free, 10 with Plus, and 20 with VIP. Daily greetings are 5 free, 15 with Plus, and 30 with VIP. Counts reset every day at 00:00 KST/JST in both Korea and Japan. Unused counts do not carry over to the next day. If the operating policy changes, the screen shows the limits in effect. If no candidate matches your conditions, no count is used. Searching by age and nationality is a Plus and VIP benefit; searching by country of residence and interests and seeing who drew you are VIP benefits. Even if the memberships on sale change, the benefits of the tier you already subscribed to continue.
Friend capsules, duplicate bonus, and probabilities
Online capsules are a presentation for opening an introduction. Offline capsules are physical items containing a separately consented photo and a QR code. We do not sell ownership of or the right to contact a person, or any cash or exchange rights. We do not assign grades, rarity, or monetary value to people. We do not guarantee replies or that a friendship will form. In online capsules, a friend you have already met may appear again. If you collect 3 capsules of the same friend across online and offline, you receive 1 bonus capsule that guarantees a new friend. Bonus capsules are separate from the daily limit and have no cash value. If no new friend matches your conditions, the bonus capsule is not used. The QR code on the back of an offline capsule registers only to the first account that registers it, and a registered QR code cannot be used again. If the member in the capsule stops participating, unregistered QR codes cannot be opened. Online introductions reflect the number of unique greetings received, recent exposure, and both people's conditions, and also explore new candidates with a default mix of 20%. Individual probabilities vary with the candidates and operating settings at the time. We do not present this standard as the composition probability of offline capsules. For offline capsules, the composition and whether it is random are shown before purchase for each store and round. Unless separately guaranteed, we do not guarantee a specific photo or a result without duplicates. The sale price is consideration for producing and operating the physical item, not a fee guaranteeing acceptance, conversation, or a meeting with a specific person.
Mutual-consent chats
You can send a first greeting to a friend you were introduced to through the draw. The recipient accepts or declines from the greetings list. Before acceptance, no further chat messages can be sent. If you were introduced to each other, the chat opens together with the first greeting. Two people always share one room and one chat history. Declines and blocks must be respected, and contacting around them is prohibited. We do not provide random anonymous chat or real-time random connections.
Leaving rooms and blocking
When you leave a room, the chat between the two of you ends. When leaving, you can choose whether to block the other person. If you did not block them, either side can send a greeting again, and if the other person accepts, it continues in the same room with the earlier history. We do not automatically reopen a room that ended based only on an earlier mutual introduction. Blocking prevents new introductions and contact in both directions. You can unblock only the blocks you made, from the block list in Settings. Unblocking does not remove the other person's block or automatically open a room. Leaving a room does not delete the history; withdrawal and deletion policies apply separately.
Prohibited conduct and restrictions
The following are prohibited: recruiting romantic partners or demanding sexual encounters, use by minors, sexual exploitation, prostitution or compensated dating, hate and harassment, solicitation of money or investment, advertising, leaking personal information, selling accounts, and automated collection. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Prohibited expressions such as profanity and sexual harassment are blocked by an automatic filter before they are sent. You can report any message or profile; reporting blocks the other person immediately, and a blocked person's content disappears from your lists right away. Operators review reports within 24 hours, remove the offending content, and eject the offending user (suspension or termination). Appeals are received through customer support. Automatic filters alone do not ensure safety, and we also perform operational review.
Subscriptions, renewal, and refunds
You can use the web for free within the free limits, without payment. App memberships (Plus and VIP) are purchased only through official store IAP. Plus: 1 month ₩4,900 · 3 months ₩12,900 · 1 year ₩39,000 VIP: 1 month ₩9,900 · 3 months ₩25,000 · 1 year ₩79,000 Japan: Plus ¥500·¥1,300·¥3,900 / VIP ¥1,000·¥2,500·¥7,800 Check the actual amount, currency, tax, and period on the store screen. Both tiers are in the same subscription group, and tier changes apply immediately or at the next renewal according to the store's rules. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period. Cancel in the store where you purchased at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Deleting the app or your account alone does not cancel a subscription. Refunds are handled according to store policy and applicable law. Even after sales stop, existing entitlement checks and purchase restoration continue.
Promotions
We provide a shared campaign code and a public redemption link. Benefits, quantities, periods, and target products are shown on campaigns whose issuance is confirmed. Apple uses official custom offer codes. For products where Play does not support shared codes, the server assigns official codes. Assigning a code does not grant entitlements; we verify the actual transaction. We do not cancel benefits already granted merely by reissuing or switching campaigns.
Recipients' scope of use and safety
Even if you received a physical item, without the consent of the person in the photo you may not photograph, scan, repost online, resell, or promote it. Face recognition, tracking identity or contact details, combining personal data, and use for forced contact, stalking, or harassment are prohibited. Even if profile-connection information exists, it follows Capsule Talk's current permissions and block policy, and the connection may end after suspension or withdrawal. All contact and meetings require the other person's separate consent. If there is impersonation, rights infringement, false information, or suspected minors, the company may hold or suspend the photo and request necessary verification. We investigate harm reports and stop publication, inventory, and connections that we can control.
Scope of liability and force majeure
The company fulfills its legal duties for personal information protection, processor management, and safety measures. Relationships and replies between members, third-party copies that cannot be recalled, and results the company can hardly control reasonably, such as natural disasters and network failures, are not guaranteed to the extent the company is not at fault. During outages we minimize harm and report on recovery and suspension. We do not exempt or uniformly limit liability for the company's intent or gross negligence, personal information breaches, or other liability under law. We do not exclude liability for damages merely because use is free of charge. If damage arises from a member's unlawful conduct, liability is determined by legal requirements such as fault, causation, and actual damage. We do not automatically charge printing costs, inventory costs, or penalties for withdrawing consent or leaving. We do not restrict rights to appeal, report, seek legal remedies, or prove claims.
Withdrawal, changes, and disputes
On withdrawal we stop new exposure, production, sale, and distribution, and delete profiles, photos, written messages, and sessions according to the privacy policy. Offline work in progress and physical items are handled under the suspension and recall provisions above. The minimum records needed for payment ownership, statutory retention, reports, and suspension measures are kept separately. Before applying service changes or suspension and material changes to these terms, we notify the changes, reasons, effective date, and how to inquire. Changes that require new consent, such as to the purpose, disclosure scope, or cross-border transfer of personal information, are not applied before consent, and silence is not treated as consent. Individual agreements and mandatory laws take precedence over these terms. If some provisions are invalid, the rest apply to the extent permitted by law. Disputes may be resolved through customer support, statutory dispute mediation, or the competent court. We do not force a particular court or restrict the mandatory legal rights of consumers in Korea and Japan.
Service operating status
We provide publication, introductions, and chats between real members' profiles. Profiles are published as soon as they are saved, and operators review them afterwards. We manage safety with reports, blocking, and automatic restrictions. Eligible age is checked with the date of birth you entered; we do not collect ID documents. Offline photo capsules cover only members who separately agreed to participate. Once a printing vendor is chosen, we will disclose it in the Privacy Policy before any processing.
Offline quantity and composition decisions
Articles 21 to 26 below are explained separately before offline participation and apply only to participation for which you confirmed and agreed to those conditions. They do not apply retroactively to existing sign-ups, online publication consent, or completed transactions. Within the country, place, purpose, and participation period you consented to, the company decides print quantities, production rounds, sale prices, photo combinations per capsule, duplicate composition, placement order, and operating schedule. Unless separately agreed, without any set minimum or maximum quantity or equal allocation, the same photo may be produced, sold, and distributed repeatedly across multiple rounds. Re-approval or proof confirmation is not required for each print or composition within that scope. However, if consent matters such as purpose, disclosed items, or recipients change, we first provide the necessary notice and obtain consent. Approval of participation is not a promise of production, sale, exposure, or continued operation. We do not guarantee desired quantities, sales, recipients, exposure rank, or exclusive composition. Individual agreements, displayed product terms, and the ban on new use after suspension take precedence.
Free license and compensation
Offline participation without a separate compensation agreement is a free, non-exclusive license to use the photo within the consented scope. No additional photo usage fee, model fee, portrait fee, or revenue share arises from repeated printing, sale, or distribution, or from sale prices or quantities. Registering a photo or participating does not imply an employment, agency, or joint business contract. If there is an actual working relationship or individual compensation agreement, it applies. Confirmed processors handle data only as instructed by the company and only to the extent needed for the relevant printing, packaging, delivery, and operations. This license does not permit processors' independent sale, advertising, AI training, or transfer or permanent use of rights in photos. We also do not make any separate disclosure, such as showing photos in physical gacha guides, without prior consent to that scope of disclosure.
Photo production, review, and vendor selection
The company reviews photos for size, resolution, and sharpness, and for whether it is you, rights clearance, and whether minors are included. If there is an objective reason for violation or need for verification, we may hold participation or production and request supplementary materials or a replacement photo. We explain the reason for holding or rejecting and how to inquire. We request only the minimum rights-verification materials, and review approval does not guarantee all third-party rights or identity, occupation, or safety. We may adjust size, ratio, margins, and color to suit the consented use. There may be ordinary differences in color and texture depending on the screen, paper, and printing method. We do not make composites or alterations that misrepresent your appearance without separate permission. We do not treat statutory defects or production differing from displayed or agreed quality as normal. The company may select and change printing and operating vendors. Before actual processing, we update the vendor name, tasks, country, and retention and disposal criteria. Changing a processor for the same purpose does not mean everyone must re-apply for participation, but changes requiring additional consent, such as cross-border transfer, are processed only after consent.
Rights verification and member responsibility
Members must check the terms of use of rights holders such as photographers and studios, and must have authority to permit the printing, sale, and distribution actually applied for. False rights confirmation, stolen photos, impersonation, and unauthorized registration of third-party information are prohibited. If you learn of a rights dispute, tell customer support about the photo and the problem. The parties reasonably cooperate in verification, suspension, and recall to reduce harm. If unlawful registration or false rights confirmation by a member's intent or negligence causes damage to the company or third parties, the company may claim compensation for actual damage for which legal fault and causation are recognized. Necessary and reasonable deletion, recall, and disposal costs, and dispute-response costs recognized by law or court decisions, are also judged within that scope. We do not shift to members the company's own negligence, breach of management duties, or unnecessarily increased costs. A claim made against the company alone does not establish the member's liability or automatically make the member bear all settlements and legal fees. We guarantee the right to object to liability and costs and the statutory standards of proof. Lawful withdrawal of consent or leaving is itself not a violation or ground for damages.
Timing gaps, records, and judging damages
The time lag of printing and delivery already underway, or the mere existence of physical items received by third parties, does not automatically establish grounds for damages. Judgment depends on the times of receipt, transmission, ordering, and stop instructions, the possibility of cancellation, the actual measures of the company and processors, and fault, damage, and causation. Records are materials for verification and are not a basis for the company to conclusively decide liability alone. We do not guarantee outcomes for unauthorized copying, distribution, or contact by third parties not attributable to the company, or for disputes between individuals. The company separately performs its duties of prevention, handling reports, and managing processors. The scope of compensation is based on damage recognized under applicable law. Expected revenue, exposure, favorability, or the expected value of friendships that were not agreed are not automatically compensated in themselves. We do not limit statutory compensation requirements such as special damages, emotional distress, and personal information infringement. We do not continue new production or sale after suspension on the ground that transmission or printing was completed. Record retention is limited to the minimum scope and period with a lawful basis.
Operational holds, changes, and termination
If there is a reasonable cause, such as rights infringement, safety issues, changes in law, or facility or processor failures, we may hold, change, or end the relevant photo or offline round. We explain the reason, target, timing, and necessary follow-up measures. Urgent protective measures are taken first and notified without delay. We do not arbitrarily expand the consented period, country, or scope of provision. Where quantity, place, and period were individually agreed, we handle them under that agreement and law. Non-provision, defects, cancellation, and refunds of paid transactions and existing purchase entitlements are settled separately. Suspending participation alone does not require payment of fees or expected revenue that never arose, but this clause does not remove agreed compensation and statutory rights. After termination or withdrawal, the same standards apply to stopping new use and clearing files and inventory.
